The Austin Police Department (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit is seeking the public's help in apprehending two suspects involved in an Aggravated Assault on an APD Officer. The incident took place in the 6400 block of Chimney Creek Circle on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at around 4:37 a.m.
According to the authorities, the suspects were traveling in a sedan and failed to comply with a traffic stop initiated by APD Officers. They proceeded to enter the cul-de-sac in the 6400 block of Chimney Creek Circle, performed a U-turn, and accelerated towards the officers and their marked patrol car. Sadly, one of the officers was struck by the car as it fled the scene.
The description of the suspects and the vehicle involved has been provided by the APD. Suspect #1, believed to be the driver, is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with black hair in a bowl cut style, no facial hair, and a tan complexion. Suspect #2, believed to be the passenger, is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with black hair featuring a dyed blonde middle parting, a light complexion, and a heavy set. The suspect vehicle is possibly silver or grey in color, resembling a newer model Lexus sedan.
The APD Aggravated Assault Unit is urging anyone with information about the incident, including the vehicle or the identity of the suspects, to contact them at 512-974-5177. Alternatively, individuals can provide anonymous tips through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. It is worth noting that a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information leading to an arrest.
