The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a vehicle crash involving a Sports-Utility-Vehicle and a pedestrian at approximately 5:58 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no indications of intoxication on the part of the driver. This incident marks the first fatal crash in Austin for the year 2024, with one fatality recorded thus far.
