APD Detectives Search for Suspect in Indecency with a Child Case

The Austin Police Department (APD) is appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in an indecency with a child incident. The incident took place at the Burlington Coat Factory store located in the 6600 block of Middle Fiskville Road on Monday, December 18, 2023, at approximately 8:11 p.m.

According to the APD Child Abuse unit, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens. He has a medium build, black curly hair, and a light complexion. At the time of the incident, he was wearing black pants and a black sweater with a "HUSTLER" logo on the front.

In a statement, the APD urged anyone with information to come forward. Detective Jane Doe from the APD Child Abuse unit stated, "We are seeking the public's assistance in identifying this suspect. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial in solving this case and bringing the perpetrator to justice."

To encourage public participation, the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the program's website at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.

The APD emphasized the importance of community involvement in solving crimes, particularly those involving vulnerable individuals such as children. Sergeant John Smith from the APD stated, "We rely on the public's assistance in cases like these. Together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of our community, especially our children."

The APD is committed to thoroughly investigating this case and bringing the suspect to justice. They are urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and assist in the investigation.
