APD Detectives Search for Suspect in Hit and Run Crash

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives are actively searching for a suspect in connection to a hit and run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian. The incident took place on Monday, February 26, 2024, at approximately 2:38 a.m. in the 2900 block of East Parmer Lane.

According to reports, the driver of a white two-door pickup truck struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway and then fled the scene without providing any assistance. The pedestrian sustained serious bodily injuries and is currently hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities have released a description of the suspect vehicle and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The vehicle in question is a white two-door pickup truck, and photos of the vehicle have been attached to aid in the investigation.

In a statement, the APD stated, "Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Highway Investigation Tip Line at 512-974-8111. You may also submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest."

The search for the suspect continues as authorities work to bring justice to the victim of this hit and run crash.
