Austinites are invited to meet and hear from the two finalists for the Austin City Manager position at an event on Monday, March 25.

"The public will hear opening remarks, listen to a discussion moderated by veteran Austin news anchor Judy Maggio, and have the opportunity to interact with the candidates at a reception following the program," as stated in the announcement.

The City of Austin is encouraging community participation in the selection process by allowing members to submit questions for the moderated discussion. Questions can be submitted on the SpeakUpAustin page or by calling 3-1-1 or 512-974-2000. The deadline for submitting questions is 11 p.m. on March 20.

"Interpretation services for American Sign Language, Mandarin, Spanish, and Vietnamese will be available at the event," ensuring inclusivity for all attendees. Services for other languages can be requested by calling 3-1-1 or 512-974-2000 by March 20.

Following the event, the public will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the two candidates through a survey. This feedback will be crucial in aiding the City Council in their final selection process.

On March 25, the two candidates will engage with various stakeholders including City management, department directors, staff, public safety unions, and the local chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

The City Council will interview the candidates in a closed session on Tuesday, March 26, with a media availability session scheduled for each candidate following their respective interviews with the Council.
