Austin police seek public's help in identifying hit-and-run suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) Highway Enforcement Command Unit is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision. The incident occurred at approximately 11:27 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, in the 1200 block of West Parmer Lane.

According to authorities, the suspect stole beer from the 7/11 located at 1100 West Parmer Lane before entering his vehicle and heading westbound on Parmer Lane. The suspect then struck a motorcyclist, causing the victim to crash and sustain non-life-threatening injuries. Following the collision, the suspect fled westbound on West Parmer Lane in the eastbound lanes before turning onto Scofield Farms Drive.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
