The City of Austin’s Equity Office has announced that applications are open for the 2024-2025 Equity Mini Grant Fund. This program provides a funding opportunity aimed at supporting local grassroots organizations, with a focus on community-based efforts in specific priority areas.
The FY25 Mini Grant Fund prioritizes organizing work through an equity lens, giving precedence to community-led proposals and organizations that co-create solutions. The Equity Office aims to reduce challenges for smaller organizations to amplify their work and maintain a focus on community needs.
Ideal applicants are those who plan or currently work to address disparities by incorporating the lived experiences of those most impacted at every phase of their projects. Strong candidates include organizations and grassroots groups collaborating on similar issues.
Applications are being accepted in both English and Spanish until 11:59 pm on October 15, 2024. Applicants can apply for grants at three different levels: $10,000, $20,000, and $30,000. Notifications will be sent out by late December 2024, with funds expected to be released starting in late January 2025.
The term “immigrant” includes refugees, asylees, undocumented individuals, parolees, among others. The Equity Office also welcomes requests for applications in other languages; such requests should be made by September 15th, 2024.
