The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking public assistance in locating Juan Antonio Vazquez Jr., a 24-year-old suspect involved in multiple theft and forgery cases. The incidents span from September 2022 to June 2024.

According to the APD, Vazquez is suspected of scamming individuals through online property rentals. He allegedly advertises rental properties that he does not own, collects cash for deposits and rent, and when the new tenants arrive to move in, they find out they have no rights to the property.

"Anyone with any information may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477," stated the APD. "A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest."

The APD has provided a photo and description of Vazquez but did not include it in this release.
