Austin center seeks art submissions from Central Texas-based artists

The Asian American Resource Center (AARC) in Austin has announced an open call for artists and curators based in Central Texas. This invitation is for submissions of exhibit applications for the 2025-2026 calendar years. The submission window opens at midnight on October 7, 2024, and closes at 11:59 p.m. on January 12, 2025. There is no fee to apply, and the process is open to artists, curators, and members of the public who meet the eligibility criteria.

The Community Exhibits Program at AARC features year-round exhibits that celebrate the cultural heritage, history, identity, and creativity of Asian American Pacific Islanders. The program aims to support exhibits that reflect AARC's mission to foster spaces of belonging and healing for Asian American communities in Austin and beyond.

Selected participants will receive support including access to exhibition spaces and facilities at AARC, funded community outreach opportunities, professional development resources, marketing assistance, and more.

The AARC operates under the City of Austin Museums and Cultural Programs Division within the Parks and Recreation Department. Its mission focuses on creating a sense of belonging and healing for Asian American communities in Austin. Located at 8401 Cameron Road, AARC offers programs, workshops, classes, and events celebrating Asian cultures.
