The Aurora Police Department (APD) responded to a double homicide on Monday morning in the 1800 block of Burton Drive. Officers discovered two individuals, one male and one female, deceased in a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.

The deceased female was identified as having three children who were initially unaccounted for, prompting an Amber Alert. The children have since been located and are safe.

Authorities have not recovered any weapon at the scene. The suspect has been identified as Sherles Gregorio Machado-Hernandez, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

The APD will provide further updates during a news conference scheduled for tomorrow, though the exact time has yet to be determined.

In connection with the Amber Alert issued earlier, it was confirmed that all three missing endangered children have been found safe. However, the suspect, Sherles Gregorio Machado-Hernandez, is still on the run. Authorities urge anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts to avoid approaching him and instead call 9-1-1 immediately.

No additional information is available at this time regarding the ongoing investigation.
