Austin's Parks and Recreation Director, Jesús Aguirre, will hold a Community Listening Session at the Oswaldo "A.B." Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center on April 26 at 10 a.m. This event invites community members to voice their opinions on the strengths and areas for improvement within Austin Parks and Recreation. Additional input can be shared using the Online Forum.
Participants will be introduced to the department's operations and Director Aguirre's values and priorities. They will also be given the opportunity to directly share their thoughts. Director Jesús Aguirre, with over 25 years of experience, has been appointed as the new Director of Austin Parks and Recreation. His career includes leadership roles in Seattle and Washington, D.C., where he developed strategic visions and success stories. He was also the CEO of Waterloo Greenway, supervising a major 35-acre urban park project in Austin.
