Police seek help identifying robbery suspect after Texas incident

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a robbery. The incident took place on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, around 2:53 a.m. in the 3100 block of E. SH 71 SVRD EB.

The suspect assaulted the victim by knocking her to the ground and striking her several times before taking her belongings. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 40 years old, standing 5’7” tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was dressed in a black shirt, black durag, black pants, one yellow construction glove, a red and black knit cap, and red athletic shoes.

The APD Robbery Unit urges anyone with information to reach out by calling 512-974-5092. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
