On Friday, April 18, 2025, Austin Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 9:50 a.m. The call was about a possible deceased individual under a bridge in the 2900 block of Lovell Drive. Upon arriving at the location, officers found the body of a Hispanic male showing signs of trauma. The victim, apparently in his early 20s, had tattoos reading “Angel” and “Martinez” but lacked any physical identification. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 a.m.

The investigation, spearheaded by homicide detectives and crime scene specialists, indicates that the victim may have been shot by unknown suspects who are currently at large. The detectives are seeking public assistance to identify both the victim and the suspects.

Authorities are calling on anyone who might have seen or heard anything in the area to come forward. Eyewitness accounts could be vital in advancing the investigation. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS or anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.

Currently, this case is being investigated as Austin's 16th homicide of the year 2025. Detectives also request any photos, videos, or potential evidence related to the incident be submitted via the provided digital means.
