Representative John Carter’s (TX-31) Protection of Children Act will be voted on tomorrow as part of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act. The Protection of Children Act, title V of the Secure the Border Act, ensures that vulnerable children are protected from human trafficking and exploitation by expediently returning unaccompanied alien children to family members in their home country if family cannot be located in the United States.
The Secure the Border Act:
- Forces the Biden Administration to restart construction of the border wall.
- Deploys technology to the southern and northern border.
- Increases the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay.
- Requires transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security.
- Strengthens current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking.
- Ends catch and release.
- Ends abuse of executive immigration authority.
- Strengthens and streamlines the asylum process.
