The Austin Parks and Recreation Department's Old Bakery and Emporium is delighted to present the "Fantastical Flora" art exhibit and opening reception. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, January 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Bakery and Emporium, located at 1006 Congress Ave. The exhibition showcases the exceptional talent of local Austin artist, Francine Funke.

"Fantastical Flora" is a captivating exploration of the beauty found in botanical forms, expressed both realistically and abstractly. Francine's artwork takes viewers on a journey through nature, mystery, and introspection. This multi-media exhibition offers a unique and intriguing perspective on our world.

Francine Funke is a highly accomplished artist with a diverse range of artistic mediums. Her impressive body of work includes mixed media archival pigment ink on canvas and paper, acrylic paintings, collages, works on paper, photography, and installations. Francine has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in numerous galleries and has had solo installations in major museums across the country.

Notably, Francine's talent was recognized by Zaha Hadid Architects, who selected her work for their residential tower, "One Thousand Museum" in Miami, Florida. Her artwork can also be found in the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Austin. Recently, Francine was commissioned to create a magnificent 25-foot mural consisting of five panels for a major corporation's new headquarters in the Dallas, Texas area.
