APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to Two Hit and Run Crashes which Resulted in Serious Injuries

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives are actively searching for a suspect in connection to two hit and run crashes that resulted in serious injuries. The incidents occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 18, 2024, on the 8400 block of N IH 35 SB.

According to reports, the first crash involved a suspect vehicle rear-ending a victim's sedan while both vehicles were traveling southbound on the 100 block of N IH 35 SB. The victim then pursued the suspect vehicle, which subsequently collided with a motorcyclist on the 8400 block of N IH 35 SB. The suspect driver fled the scene at a high speed, leaving the injured motorcyclist in critical condition.

In a plea for public assistance, authorities stated, "Anyone with any information may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477." Additionally, a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.

The search for the suspect continues as law enforcement works diligently to bring justice to those affected by these reckless hit and run incidents.
