WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), a House impeachment manager in the trial of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and chairman emeritus of the House Homeland Security Committee, joined his fellow impeachment managers in transmitting and presenting the two articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas to the United States Senate.
"Secretary Mayorkas took an oath to protect the country from enemies both foreign and domestic," said Rep. McCaul. "For the past three years, he has repeatedly violated that oath, defied our nation’s laws, and made our communities less safe. Senator Schumer must follow historical precedent and conduct a full, public trial in the Senate. Texans — and all Americans — deserve nothing less."
