U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) released a statement regarding the attempted assassination of President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.

"Thank God President Trump is okay," McCaul stated.

He continued, "I can only imagine what could have happened had House Democrats been successful in their attempts to terminate his Secret Service detail. This should be a sobering reminder to them and others on the Left that their rhetoric and actions matter."

McCaul emphasized the resilience of the democratic process, saying, "Our democratic process will not be deterred by this baseless act, as President Trump so powerfully demonstrated. Millions of Americans will never forget seeing his fist in the air — a symbol of hope, courage, and strength in the face of despicable evil."

He concluded with a call for unity and prayer: "Please join me in continued prayer for the former president, the individuals who were injured, the loved ones of the attendee who was killed, and everyone who witnessed this traumatic, senseless attack."
