Austin police release new footage in aggravated robbery case

The Austin Police Department (APD) has released new video footage of suspects linked to an aggravated robbery that took place on January 20, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 11:07 p.m. at the Mobil gas station located at 5401 Menchaca Rd.

According to APD Robbery Unit Detectives, the suspects aggressively entered the store, forcibly pulled the clerk from behind the counter, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash while threatening the clerk with a firearm. The suspects subsequently fled in a white four-door sedan heading northbound.

Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying the two suspects involved. Descriptions and photos of the suspects have been made available by APD.

Anyone with information is urged to contact APD's Robbery unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
