As Park and Recreation Month concludes, the Parks and Recreation Department and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) are prompting the community to reflect on what makes Austin's 355 parks, over 20,000 acres of green space, 269 miles of trails, and numerous public centers and cultural spaces unique.

This year's theme, "Where You Belong," aims to highlight how parks and recreation areas nationwide foster welcoming environments and provide essential services for individuals of all ages and abilities. By offering safe and accessible spaces, these areas promote meaningful interactions and strengthen community ties.

The NRPA encourages everyone to celebrate the places and people that make communities feel like home. For more information on Park and Recreation Month, visit NRPA.org/July.
