This year's 2024 Fall ACL Music Festival concluded successfully, with early collaboration among partner agencies ensuring robust safety measures. Law enforcement concentrated on addressing past issues like thefts and overdoses through preparation and education, effectively reducing risks for attendees.

During the first weekend, the Austin Police Department (APD) made two arrests—one for evading on foot and another based on a request to apprehend. Officers responded to 225 calls for service and recorded 70 offense reports. Of these reports, 44 involved theft from individuals, with 42 being cell phone thefts.

In the second weekend, APD arrested one person for assault with injury. They attended to 148 service calls and compiled 55 offense reports. There were 33 reported thefts from individuals, of which 23 were related to cell phones.

These figures represent a significant decrease compared to previous years. "We thank our partner agencies, our community and those attending the festival for working collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of festival-goers," stated APD officials.

Those who believe they may have been victims are encouraged to use APD’s online reporting site at ireportaustin.com or call Austin's non-emergency number at 3-1-1.

The breakdown of arrests and reports by weekend is as follows:

Total arrests: three (two in weekend one; one in weekend two). Total calls for service: 373 (225 in weekend one; 148 in weekend two). Total offense reports: 125 (70 in weekend one; 55 in weekend two).

These statistics only cover incidents within Zilker Park. The APD crime database is regularly updated, so report outcomes may vary over time.
