Austin police seek public help in identifying aggravated robbery suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an aggravated robbery. The incident took place at the Dollar General located at 9600 Menchaca Road on October 13, 2024, between 9:10 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

According to the APD Robbery Unit, the suspect entered the store aggressively and threatened employees with a firearm while waiting for the time-delayed safe to open. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Black male, aged between 30 and 40 years. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black baseball-style cap, a blue long sleeve shirt, dark pants, grey/white shoes, a mask, and gloves.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact APD's Robbery unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
