College Station, Texas – U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul presented a resolution to Texas A&M University's president, retired Air Force General Mark A. Welsh III, recognizing his dedication and commitment to the United States, Texas, and the university.

"It was an honor to introduce this resolution and present it to President Welsh at his investiture ceremony today," said Rep. McCaul. "Throughout his life, President Welsh has exemplified Texas A&M’s core values of excellence, loyalty, and selfless service both to our community and our country. I can think of no one better suited to take on this role, and have no doubt his leadership will benefit future generations of Aggies!"

Rep. McCaul was joined by Representatives Jake Ellzey, August Pfluger, Kay Granger, Pete Sessions, Beth Van Duyne, Michael Burgess, John Carter, and Wesley Hunt in introducing a resolution honoring the investiture of Texas A&M University’s 27th president.

President Welsh previously served as dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He became the 20th chief of staff to the Air Force in August 2012 and also served as commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe and NATO’s Air Command at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
