Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 10th district since 2005, shared his views and congratulatory messages on social media. McCaul's statements reflect his political stance and recognition of leadership within Texas.

On December 3, 2024, McCaul expressed criticism towards the House Democrats, stating that their actions demonstrate a disconnect with the American populace. He emphasized collaboration between President Trump and House Republicans to address economic issues: "This is another example of how out of touch @HouseDemocrats are with the American people. President Trump and @HouseGOP will work together to lower costs, reduce inflation, and restore our strong economy!"

Later that day, McCaul extended congratulations to Colonel Freeman Martin for his appointment as the new Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS). Highlighting Martin's historic role as the first Texas Ranger to lead the department, McCaul noted challenges such as cartel crime and terrorism threats from the border: "Congratulations to Colonel Freeman Martin for being named the new @TxDPS Director – the first ever Texas Ranger to lead the department. As the Lone Star State faces increased cartel crime, natural disasters, and terrorism threats from the border..."

In addition to acknowledging Martin's appointment, McCaul praised Colonel Steven McCraw for his service over 15 years which contributed positively to Texas: "I also join Texans in commending Colonel Steven McCraw on a job well done. His 15 years of service made Texas a better place."
