Detectives from the Austin Police Department (APD) are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting incident at Lakeline Mall. The event took place on Thursday, January 2, 2025, around 3:55 p.m. at the mall located on the 11200 block of Lakeline Mall Drive.

The APD's Aggravated Assault Unit is leading the investigation. According to their report, both the suspect and a victim left the scene immediately after the shooting. Initially, authorities were unaware of any injuries due to a delay in medical treatment being sought by the victim. Evidence collected at the scene did not initially indicate any injuries. However, it was later confirmed that the victim had sustained minor injuries and went to a hospital independently.

The department has released a photo and description of the suspect as part of their efforts to gather information. They urge anyone with information about this case to contact APD's Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5245. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program via their website or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
