Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 10th district since 2005, recently shared his views on significant historical and political matters through a series of tweets. McCaul, who has a background in law and resides in Austin, Texas, addressed topics ranging from national security to World War II commemorations.

On January 22, 2025, McCaul expressed support for former President Trump's decision to re-designate the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. He stated: "President Trump wasted no time in doing the right thing and re-designating the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, intent on harming the United States and its citizens." He thanked Trump for demonstrating strength needed to deter adversaries.

In another tweet posted on the same day, McCaul criticized President Biden's decision regarding the Houthi rebels. He remarked: "The Houthi rebels have launched numerous attacks on U.S. interests and international shipping in the Red Sea — disrupting global supply chains and driving up costs." McCaul called on Biden to reverse what he termed as reckless removal of their FTO designation.

On January 23, 2025, McCaul reflected on a historical event marking its anniversary. He tweeted about the Battle of the Bulge during World War II: "80 years ago this week, the Battle of the Bulge — which Winston Churchill called 'the greatest American battle' of WWII — finally ended." He honored the half-million American soldiers who fought in extreme conditions during this pivotal battle.
