APD seeks public help after shooting at Bartholomew District Park

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a community event took place at Bartholomew District Park. During the event, a physical disturbance occurred in the parking lot near the baseball field involving multiple unidentified males. Following this disturbance, gunshots were fired, resulting in one person being injured and several vehicles being struck.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate that several persons of interest were present before the shooting began. A large crowd witnessed the incident.

Detectives are seeking public assistance for any information related to the case. They are interested in videos, audio recordings, or witness accounts that could aid their investigation.

Individuals with information about this incident are encouraged to contact the APD Aggravated Assault Unit at (512) 974-8566. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
