On February 27, 2025, at approximately 6:19 a.m., officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to an incident outside Fitness Connection at 12901 N IH-35 SVRD NB. Upon arrival, they found a person with gunshot wounds who was subsequently taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The APD's Aggravated Assault Detectives were called to the scene to gather evidence and interview witnesses. According to preliminary findings, a woman armed with a knife was spotted in the gym's parking lot. A man then shot her in that location. The shooter has been detained by authorities.
Detectives have reached out to all involved parties and are continuing their interviews. No arrests have been made yet, as the investigation remains active.
Officials assure that there is no ongoing threat to public safety stemming from this event.
