On February 21, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., an aggravated robbery occurred at the Hook’em Up Tire Shop located at 7044 East U.S. 290 Highway. According to reports, two employees were closing the store when a suspect entered and physically assaulted one of them. The suspect then brandished a firearm and demanded cash from the second employee. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect pistol-whipped the employee before fleeing.
The suspect may have left in a newer model white Chevrolet Equinox or Ford Explorer with unknown registration details.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact APD's Robbery unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
