The Austin Police Department (APD) has announced the arrest of Jacob Anthony Rodriguez in connection to multiple indecent exposure incidents. Rodriguez, aged 22, was taken into custody on Sunday, March 9, 2025, after an extensive investigation led by the APD Sex Crimes Unit.
Rodriguez faces three counts of indecent exposure following events that occurred on the evening of Friday, February 7. He allegedly drove around the Congress Avenue and East Oltorf area, targeting young females who were walking in the neighborhood. Within this time frame, Rodriguez reportedly exposed himself to at least three different females. Two of the victims took a photo of his license plate, and all three provided descriptions. A subsequent traffic stop by APD officers identified Rodriguez as the only occupant of the vehicle linked to the incidents.
Initially, the victims did not file charges. However, days later, they decided to proceed legally, prompting the issuance of arrest warrants. Rodriguez was apprehended by the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office and has since been charged and taken to the Travis County Jail.
Detective Vonholt commented, "We are pleased to announce this important step in our efforts to bring justice to the victims and the community." The detective emphasized the importance of collaboration between officers and the community in resolving the case.
The APD is requesting anyone with additional information to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.
