The Austin Municipal Court, in collaboration with the Downtown Austin Community Court, has announced the launch of its 2025 Warrant Amnesty program. This initiative will run from March 31 through April 25, offering individuals the opportunity to resolve unpaid citations and outstanding warrants without incurring any warrant fees. Participants must engage with the court to benefit from this program.

Importantly, police officers will not be dispatched to take individuals into custody, and those voluntarily visiting Austin Municipal Court or Community Court locations will not face arrest.

The program also provides alternatives for individuals unable to make immediate payments. Options such as payment plans, community service, and hardship waivers are available for those who qualify. It is important to note that this amnesty applies solely to active cases at the Austin Municipal Court or Downtown Austin Community Court.

Reflecting on the previous year’s program, Clerk of the Court, Mary Jane Grubb, stated, “AMC is proud to offer our Warrant Amnesty program to Austinites again this year. The program is a core part of our commitment to building trust and accountability with the public we serve.” She emphasized, “We want the public to know, if they have an unresolved citation or warrant, they should not be afraid to come talk to us. Our staff can discuss options and help customers come into compliance.”

Walk-in dockets are scheduled from Monday to Friday during the amnesty period, where judges and prosecutors will review cases, discuss legal options, and issue orders. No appointments are required for the walk-in dockets, and all services are complimentary. Spanish interpreters will be on hand to assist as needed.

For Municipal Court cases, the main location is at 6800 Burleson Road, Building 310, Suite 175, within the Bergstrom Technology Center complex. An additional option is available at a substation located at 2121 West Parmer Lane, Suite 116, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Cases for the Downtown Austin Community Court can be addressed at 505 Barton Springs Road, with operating hours from Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 to 3:45 p.m.

For further information, individuals may call (512) 974-4800 or visit the city’s official website at austintexas.gov/court.
