CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE: Key to the City November 27, 2020

Sched

City of Pflugerville issued the following announcement on Nov. 27

Shop locally on Black Pfriday

The day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, known as Black Friday. Before you head out the door, make sure you grab a mask. When shopping, map your desired shopping path to make sure that you are shopping in Pflugerville. Keeping your tax dollars local helps support local businesses, Pflugerville jobs and businesses. Not sure where to go? Visit pfuntx.com for a list of shopping and dining locations.

If you make a lot of purchases, consider stopping home to drop off purchases instead of leaving them in your automobile. Be safe and have fun!

Each Wednesday in the month of December, the City of Pflugerville wants to know what residents wish they had in Pflugerville! #WishWednesday posts will be on the City’s social media accounts starting December 2. Share what you want to see in Pflugerville by commenting on #WishWednesday posts on the City’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and email pictures of what you want to see to planning@pflugervilletx.gov. Community Development Block Grant Plan approved

City Council approved an Amended 2020 Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The original 2020 Action Plan was approved in August, and this amended plan is in response to $158,241 in additional funding from the CARES Act that the federal government has provided to help aid communities with the impacts of COVID-19 on their low to moderate income residents.

This amended plan includes the Youth Scholarship program and improvements to Yellow Sage Street outlined in the original 2020 Action Plan. For more information on the original 2020 Action Plan, visit https://bit.ly/362tIxH.

The new projects proposed with the CARES Act funds are a utility payment assistance program to provide support with water and wastewater bills and a senior access program that targets internet access for seniors.

This plan will now be submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for consideration. Stay tuned to pflugervilletx.gov/CDBG for more information about these new programs.

Heatherwilde Roadway Rehabilitation Project Construction continues

Starting Monday, November 30, the City of Pflugerville will begin work on Sweetwood Song Drive, Laurelleaf Drive and Gazania Drive as part of the Heatherwilde Roadway Rehabilitation Project. Construction of this phase is expected to last through the beginning of January, after which work will begin on Acanthus Street and then in February on Hughmont Drive.

As a reminder, lane closures on Heatherwilde Boulevard between Pfennig Lane and Pecan Street as part of this project are ongoing.

Residents will receive door hangers informing them when access to their street will be restricted. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Pflugerville Public Works Department at 512-990-6400.
