Austin police seek public help in solving Rutland Market robbery

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking assistance from the public in connection with an aggravated robbery that took place on October 29, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. at Rutland Market, located at 900 Rutland Drive in Austin, Texas.

According to the APD Robbery Unit, the suspect entered the store and initially requested to purchase cigarettes. Subsequently, the individual produced a black handgun and demanded cash from the register.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about this case to contact APD's Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
