Homicide Investigation in the 5600 block of North Lamar Boulevard

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives have made significant progress in the investigation regarding the tragic incident that occurred in the 5600 block of North Lamar Boulevard. According to reports, during the initial investigation, detectives uncovered evidence concerning the decedent’s twin sister having non-accidental injuries. Consequently, Child Abuse Detectives have arrested and charged Brittney Alisha Bailey for Injury to a Child, a first-degree felony, for the injuries sustained by the decedent’s twin sister.

The incident, which took place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at The Revl Apartments, resulted in the unfortunate passing of a three-month-old infant. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the infant was pronounced deceased on March 15. The seriousness of the situation has led to the arrest of Brittney Alisha Bailey in connection with the injuries inflicted on the infant's twin sister.

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. Those who may have details pertinent to the case are encouraged to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. Information can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.

The incident is currently under investigation as Austin's 12th homicide of 2024.
