Williamson County County Schools: Which ethnicity was most represented in 2021-22 school year?

Of the many ethnicities represented in Williamson County County schools, the most prevalent ethnic group among students enrolled in Williamson County County schools in 2021-22 school year were white, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of the 116,310 students attending Williamson County County schools, 42% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnicity, making up 33.8% of Williamson County County students.

In the previous school year, white students still were the most common group in Williamson County County, representing 43.4% of the student body.

Harmony School of Endeavor Austin had the most even distribution of races among the county schools, including 43% Asian students, 24.9% white students, 14.3% Black students, 13.9% Hispanic students, 3.7% Multi-racial students, 0.1% American Indian students, and 0.1% Pacific Islander students.

In the 2021-22 school year, the total number of students enrolled in public schools in the county increased 4.3% when compared to the previous year.

Texas is found to be one of the least educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
