On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 1:04 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 700 block of East Ben White Boulevard SVRD WB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle involved did not stop.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 58th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 63 fatalities for the year. On the same date in 2023, there were 63 fatal crashes resulting in 66 fatalities.
