Austin police seek public help in identifying hit-and-run suspect

The Austin Police Department's Highway Enforcement Investigations unit is seeking help from the public to identify the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident. The crash occurred on Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 11:09 p.m. near the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and West Anderson Lane SVRD.

According to police reports, a pickup truck collided with a bicyclist in the area. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but is currently stable. The driver of the suspect vehicle did not stop to provide aid or contact emergency services and left the scene immediately after the collision.

The authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
