The City of Austin's Economic Development Department has announced the 2025 Nexus Grant, aimed at supporting new and emerging creatives in the Austin area. The program plans to award up to 100 grants of $5,000 each to local small organizations, individual artists, and small arts businesses for creative public projects or activities. These funds can be used for expenses such as administrative costs, equipment and space rentals, marketing, and other eligible expenditures. Applications will open on Tuesday, January 28 at 10 a.m. and close on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m.

“I am proud to champion the Nexus Grant as a cornerstone of our mission to empower Austin’s creative community,” said Anthony Segura, Interim Director of the Economic Development Department. “This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing fresh talent, fostering innovation, and ensuring that every voice in our city’s unique arts scene has the resources to thrive.”

Eligible applicants must have a minimum one-year history of cultural or arts programming in Austin and be headquartered in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area—which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. For complete eligibility requirements and application details, visit the Nexus Grant website.

To improve the application process for this grant cycle through community feedback and stakeholder input are being incorporated into incremental changes with each launch.

The Economic Development Department is providing multiple resources to assist with both the application process and determining eligibility for potential applicants.

Applications must be submitted by March 6 at 7 p.m., with full eligibility requirements available online at www.austintexas.gov/nexus.
