WASHINGTON – This week, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) voted in favor of four measures on the House floor to support our nation’s law enforcement officers.

“With violent crime rising across the country, it’s more crucial than ever that our men and women in blue are celebrated and supported — not disparaged and demoralized,” said Rep. McCaul. “I’m proud to have voted for these measures and will continue to stand by our brave officers, who have dedicated their lives and risked their own safety to protect the communities they know and love.”

McCaul voted ‘yes’ on:

•    H. Res. 363 – a resolution memorializing law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, expressing support for National Police Week, and recognizing the law enforcement community for acts of sacrifice and heroism;

•    H. Con. Res. 40 – a resolution expressing support for local law enforcement officers and condemning efforts to defund or dismantle local law enforcement agencies;

•    H.R. 2492, the Protect Our Law enforcement with Immigration Control and Enforcement (POLICE) Act of 2023 – a bill to ensure illegal immigrants who assault law enforcement officers are removable from the U.S; and

•    H.R. 3091, the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act – a bill to allow current federal law enforcement officers in good standing to purchase their retired service weapon.
