Austin police seek public help in hit-and-run case

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at approximately 12:52 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to reports of a crash in the 10700 block of Burnet Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a suspect vehicle was traveling southbound when it struck a victim. The driver of the suspect vehicle did not stop and left the area.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as:

• 2015-2017 Ford Mustang

• Ruby Red

• Damage to driver side headlamp

Anyone with information may submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
