Austin police seek public help in identifying robbery suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect linked to a series of aggravated robberies. These incidents took place near the Hyde Park neighborhood, specifically in the 600 block of Maiden Lane. The first robbery occurred on December 22, 2024, at approximately 9:48 p.m., followed by another on December 24, 2024, at around 9:15 p.m.

According to the APD Robbery Unit, the suspect targeted multiple female victims at gunpoint before fleeing on foot. The suspect was last seen being chased through the neighborhood near Maiden Lane and W 35th Street. Detectives have obtained images of the suspect as they fled through this residential area.

The police are appealing for any additional doorbell or surveillance footage that might have captured the suspect's movements between December 22nd at 9:45 – 10:00 p.m. and December 24th at 9:15 – 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Maiden Lane and W 35th Street.

Individuals with video evidence or information are encouraged to contact APD's Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
