Austin police seek public's help in hit-and-run investigation

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking help from the public to identify a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The crash occurred on October 24, 2024, at approximately 10:24 p.m. on the 60th block of East Avenue. The APD Highway Enforcement unit is handling the case.

A pedestrian, a 66-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision with an unknown vehicle. Details about the suspect's vehicle remain undisclosed.

The APD encourages anyone with information regarding this incident or details about the suspect vehicle to provide tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Tips can be submitted by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
