On November 23, 2024, at approximately 6:35 p.m., a hit-and-run incident occurred in the 7800 block of S 1st St. The Austin Police Department (APD), along with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services and the Austin Fire Department, responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a black sedan, possibly a 2019-2023 Toyota Corolla, was involved in the crash. The vehicle collided with another car and a pedestrian before leaving without providing aid. As a result of the incident, the pedestrian sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect vehicle, which is expected to have front-end collision damage and will be missing its passenger side mirror.
