Austin police seek public's help in identifying aggravated assault suspects

The Austin Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify suspects involved in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place on November 8, 2024, at around 12:52 p.m. in the 8000 block of Exchange Drive.

According to police reports, a homeowner returned to find his house being burglarized. One suspect escaped through a window and fired several shots at the homeowner while fleeing. This suspect was accompanied by multiple accomplices who also managed to escape. Although four suspects are linked to this crime, their identities remain unknown.

The APD's Aggravated Assault unit is urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward. Individuals can contact the unit directly at 512-974-5245 or submit tips anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
