Austin police seek public help in identifying hit-and-run suspect

The Austin Police Department's Highway Enforcement unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The event occurred on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at around 1:35 p.m. on the 8500 block of Research Boulevard SVRD NB.

According to authorities, the suspect was driving a vehicle that collided with another vehicle. After the crash, the suspect did not stop to provide aid or contact emergency services. The victim sustained minor injuries, and the suspect left the scene immediately following the incident.

The police have yet to release descriptions of either the suspect or the vehicle involved.

Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to reach out to the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
