Austin police seek public's help in identifying robbery suspect

The Austin Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify a suspect linked to a robbery by assault at the Bread Basket convenience store on East Cesar Chavez Street. The incident took place on November 14, 2024, between 9 and 9:15 a.m.

According to police reports, the suspect entered the store and stole multiple vapes from a display near the cash register. When the store clerk attempted to intervene, he was assaulted by the suspect, who then fled toward 2nd and Pedernales streets with the stolen items.

Authorities have released descriptions and photos of the suspect in hopes of identifying them. The Austin Police Department's Robbery Unit encourages anyone with information about this incident to reach out by calling 512-974-5092. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program either online at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
