U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul has issued a critical statement in response to President Biden's recent foreign policy address at the State Department. McCaul, who serves as chairman emeritus of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, expressed strong disapproval of the president's remarks.

"Today, President Biden made a last-ditch effort to whitewash his disastrous foreign policy record and rewrite his legacy," McCaul stated. He challenged Biden's assertion that "the U.S. is stronger and our adversaries weaker than when he gained office." According to McCaul, this perspective overlooks what he sees as the administration's weaknesses leading to conflicts on multiple continents and tensions in the Indo-Pacific region.

McCaul was particularly critical of Biden's characterization of the Afghanistan withdrawal. "And perhaps most troubling, he once again touted his botched Afghanistan withdrawal as a victory — claiming it did not damage our alliances nor create a haven for terrorism," McCaul commented. He described these claims as "bold-faced lies," pointing out that the withdrawal led to "the release of thousands of ISIS terrorists from the prisons at Bagram."

Concluding his statement, McCaul remarked, "Joe Biden’s presidency will forever be marred by foreign policy blunders that lit the world on fire. To pretend otherwise is an insult to the American people."
