The City of Austin has been named in Forbes' list of America's Best Employers for 2025. This recognition is a result of collaboration between Forbes and Statista, a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The announcement was made on February 12, 2025, and the full list can be accessed on Forbes' website.
The selection process involved an independent survey with over 217,000 U.S. employees from companies employing at least 1,000 people across the country. Over 6.5 million employer evaluations were considered, focusing heavily on personal evaluations provided by employees themselves, as well as public evaluations from friends, family members, or others in the same industry.
In this study, the City of Austin was ranked fourth among local government employers in the United States. It follows Phoenix, County of San Diego, and Los Angeles and stands out as the only government entity in Texas to make it to the list. "We are honored to receive this recognition and are proud of the incredible team we have built at the City of Austin," stated City Manager T.C. Broadnax. He added that their commitment to creating a supportive workplace is reflected in this acknowledgment.
Austin's commitment to fostering talent and innovation is highlighted by this recognition, which reinforces its position as a leader in employee satisfaction and workplace excellence.
