Austin, TX—Residents of Austin are invited to participate in a series of town hall meetings titled “Your Budget, Your Priorities: Community Conversations with T.C. Broadnax.” These events are organized by the Austin City Manager to collect community input on city budget priorities. During these sessions, Broadnax will also address the process and challenges involved in drafting the city's proposed budget.

This marks Broadnax's first complete budget cycle since he assumed the role of City Manager in May 2024. He emphasizes the importance of engaging with residents early to identify community priorities.

City staff begin identifying both city and community needs during spring as they draft the City Manager's proposed budget, which is presented to the City Council in mid-July. Following review, analysis, and amendments, the Austin City Council adopts the city’s budget in mid-August.

The town hall meetings offer a unique opportunity for residents to learn about the budgeting process and provide feedback before the proposed fiscal year 2025-26 budget is developed.

Interpretation services for American Sign Language and Spanish will be available at these events. Services for other languages can be requested by calling 3-1-1 or 512-974-2000 at least 72 hours before a town hall meeting.

For those unable to attend, feedback can be submitted online at austintexas.gov/budget. A survey will be available starting Monday, February 24.
