The Austin Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center and A3 Art Alliance Austin, will host Fiesta Reclamada on Sunday, May 4, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will take place at The Cathedral, located at 2403 E. 16th St., and is free for the public.

The festival marks the return of Austin's longstanding Fiesta tradition with a modern twist. Fiesta Reclamada celebrates the season with music, dance, and visual arts that reflect Austin’s diverse cultures.

The Cathedral will serve as the venue for this event, featuring a musical lineup including Tish Hinojosa, Patricia Vonne, Lesley Reynaga, Javier Jara, and Daniel Llanes with For the Love of It. The performances will take place on a balcony overlooking art booths where attendees can enjoy food and drinks while browsing.

For children, creative activities will be available on the lawn. Indoors, attendees can explore booths showcasing boutique jewelry alongside paintings by local women artists. A new photography exhibition by Roj Rodriguez will also be featured during the festival. This exhibition highlights Austin's visual artists and musicians and is part of A3’s upcoming book "Perfect Storm: Austin Arts Today," set for release in early summer 2025.

Fiesta Reclamada is produced by A3 Art Alliance Austin in collaboration with the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center and sponsored by The Cathedral. The City of Austin Economic Development Department partially funds it.
